Jason Starr was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1966. His first novel Cold Caller, about a downwardly mobile telemarketer, was published in 1988 and was hailed by Kirkus Reviews as "Just the thing for fans who miss the acid noir that Jim Thompson dispensed in The Grifters." His other novels include Nothing Personal, a crime satire about two Manhattan couples, and Fake I.D., about a struggling actor/bouncer who aspires for fame as a race horse owner. Hard Feelings, about a computer-networking salesman who is haunted by a repressed memory, was the first ever Vintage Crime/Black Lizard original novel. His latest novel is Tough Luck, also published by Vintage Crime/Black Lizard. Starr`s novels have been published in six languages and he has written the script for the forthcoming movie adaptation of Nothing Personal. He lives with his wife and daughter in New York. |
