Site PhilosophyOur philosophy is not to lay down any degree of journalistic dogma as to what is, or is not, noir. Rather we aim to provide a resource for fans of noir fiction. The array of authors and books profiled on the site at any time should not be considered definitive. It is hoped that the information contained herein will continually expand as a result of input from fans of the site and fans of the noir genre. Indeed, the boundaries of the genre itself are open to interpretation and there may well be works covered here that would not fit into a classic definition of noir. Nevertheless, if the webmaster deems that a particular work deserves recognition within these pages then so be it.
